A White Wedding

Fred looked around once more at the figures, this time in horror. These were not ordinary waxworks...they were real people who had been dipped into wax by this madman! No wonder they were so lifelike.

"So, I am to be an exhibit in this madhouse?" asked Fred.

"Well now, that depends on you. As you can imagine, I already have my fair share of knights in this collection, as they are sent one by one to slay the Dragon. If your king really wanted him dead, he would have sent an army, not just one fellow at a time."

"I'll pass that on next time I see him."

"IF you see him," chuckled Waxman. "It's certainly within the realm of possibility."

"How?"

Waxman walked over to a curtain against the far wall. He pulled a cord to reveal a man in formal wear standing with a priest. "I do love a wedding, don't you? But our groom is a bit glum. You see, he has no bride! But not just any bride will do, oh no! The groom demands a virgin."

"You want me to marry him?" asked Fred, inadvertantly giving Waxman more information than he wanted to know.

"Not you, you idiot! A female! If you bring me a virgin for the wedding, I shall free you. In fact, I'll even help you kill the Dragon!"

Fred thought carefully. He couldn't imagine turning an innocent girl over to this maniac. On the other hand, the life of one might save the life of many. He turned slowly towards Waxman, and through clenched teeth said:

1. "I'll do it!"
2. "Never!"
