"Good for you," Jolyon answered dryly. "Let's get down to business. If you have more money than that takes, I can direct you to a baker where you can buy some."

"Buy some what?"

"Pie."

The stranger paused thoughtfully. "I like pie." he repeated.

Jolyon raised an eyebrow. Looked like the man had lost not just his memory but a hefty part of his attention span as well. "How much money do you have?" he asked.

"I don't know," the stranger who was even a stranger to himself, replied. "Is this enough?" And with those words, he produced

1. a pouch of gold so heavy it made the counter tremble when he dropped it.
2. a handful of silver.
3. two coppers and an Elfquest button.
4. a rod of enriched plutonium.
5. an ancient artifact of vast power and dubious reputation.
6. the clothes of a naked princess.
7. a sword and ran the apprentice through.
8. a dagger and put it against Jolyon's throat. "Give me pie now!" he screeched maniacally.
9. nothing at all. "I have been robbed!" he yelled.
