As Astra came back into focus, Fred saw that she was very different from
before. She had been a tall, strapping, but very beautiful redhead, with
fair skin. She was still beautiful, but now she was petite, almost fragile-
looking. The way the skin folded about her eyes made them appear slanted.
Her skin had a yellowish-brown tinge and her hair was jet-black. He had
seen drawings of people from far-off lands across the sea who looked very
much like this.
"You're still beautiful," Fred said. "Just a bit different." Astra managed a rueful smile. "Thank you," she said, even her voice sounding rather different from before. "But I don't think that the folk back home will see it that way." She turned back to the wizard. "You said that it would take you days before you could even begin to reverse the spell. But you can reverse it, given time?"
