the gnome said. "First of all you need to know that even when the soul has
left a body and no longer have any influence over it there is still a kind
of connection. This is true even for dead bodies. It is thanks to this that
I have been able to discover the intentions off whomever claimed your
souls. I managed to follow the trail and actually connect to them, although
only briefly. "I had beforehand studied the traces in your bodies and minds that were left by your souls. Thereby I could compare the current state of your souls with how they must have been before they were taken from you; and I'm afraid to say that they have changed drastically. It would appear that the person, or creature, that bought your souls have been twisting them for its' own purposes. "When your souls are returned to you your personalities will change drastically to reflect the new state of your souls. I could not clearly determine what kind of persons you will become when that time comes but I'm afraid to say that saw several traits that is commonly called evil. This is why I haven't dared release you yet. If the holder of your souls at some whim should decide to return them to you right now it could be very dangerous for me." Fred was gaping at the gnome. This was terrible! Could it be true? Fred didn't want to believe so. Maybe the gnome had his own agenda and was trying to manipulate them somehow.
