Fred makes it into the sprawling convention center thanks to a rope ladder
manned by three security guards and one 'Han Solo'.
Fortunately these
geeks have read all
the zombie stories and seen the movies. With only seventeen fatallities
they had organized a defense plan that would do Fred's tactics teacher
proud. Fallback positions, sniper spots, support teams, damage control
teams, medics spread out (many geeks had medical training) and there was
even a training camp going on in what was the Star Trek booth.
There was only one problem.

Lack of hygiene. Fred organizes a bathing regimen (germs breed disease in a closed enviorment).

Two of the more well-trained geeks had snapped and 'claimed' the secondary food-supply depot. With crossbows.

Someone had murdered the 'Warp Speed Now' documentarian with his own camera.

A sixteen year old girl was missing; security cameras showed a costumed man smashing the camera showing the women's restroom door.

An aborted escape attempt had infected three men; their friends had hid them in the basement...but only two zombies are found (and killed).

Seven crazed food vendors are trying to kill the innocent artist of a popular illustrated novel "New York Tourism Zombies".
