After the furry Tuvok melded with Kim what he had to say was astounding,
amazing, awesome! “That man is a spineless pig,” he said with a Vulcan
undertone of derision. “He is also a kind of quantum resonator, a fact
that I find quite curious. If he were not still living I would like to do
a cellular autopsy of the man.”
“Well, if anyone is going to do any incisions and excise genetic material, logic dictates that I be present as well,” said the not-furry Vulcan. “I’ve got first dibs here, Mr. Tuvoks,” said the Doctor. “Gentlemen, gentlemen!” said Captain Janeway. “My officer is still very much alive. There’ll be no cutting and splicing today. We have a bigger problem; what do we do about Ensign James Chen?” Just then the ship was rocked by some kind of explosion. The Captain and the Vulcans sped back to the Bridge leaving an unconscious Ensign Kim in the holographic hands of the Doctor. Back on the Bridge both Captains were wide-eyed as they stared at the viewscreen. Space was now a dark shade of magenta, and the stars were various colors of brown. A huge planet was really, really close; from the observable atmospheric activity it seemed to have similar characteristics as Venus in the system Sol. But what most caught the Captains' eyes was the tiny grey-platinum spaceship that hovered directly in front of and a little above the U.S.S. Voyager. “This is the A.O.L. Velus!” came a voice from the intercomm. “I am Captain Fred Allar and YOU are trespassing!!! Leave this place or I will be forced to fire my super-duper aqua-torpedo…and let me tell you toots, you don’t want to have to face that!”
