Fred finds himself in a dark and malodorous room. The huge purple mushrooms bulge from the floor and walls like ghastly tumours. Fred picks a few, wondering why Belboz wants these things anyway. They feel slimy and look horrible. Fred turns back towards the door and realizes

  1. The door has vanished! Fred is trapped!
  2. That he could try nibbling a mushroom to see what it does
  3. That Belboz is standing in the doorway, cackling malevolently
