The Never Ending Quest - Episode 5455

Two men cloaked in black escorted Fred into the town. The small settlement
was dominated by a tower and a citadel in the center of it. It was
surrounded by many small mud dwellings and many narrow streets. Although
it was in the middle of nowhere in the desert wastes, the city seemed to
be very alive. Rare and exotic trade seemed to abound in the marketplace,
which Fred only caught a glimpse of as he was being escorted through the
streets. It seemed he was being led to the tower. Fred was led into the tower through a small, narrow door. Once inside he was forced to climb the many steps to the top floor. Once he reached the top floor, huffing and puffing, he saw that he was in a small throne room of sorts, filled with treasure and booty from the bandit's many raids. On the throne was a man dressed all in black, wearing a purple bandana with a feather sticking out from it. He was covered in jewlery, and also carried with him two large scimitars. "Welcome, king's man!" The leader began. "My name is Nargis-Hei, but you can call me Master! You do tricks, ah?"Fred was confused and angry. "I am Lord Frederigo D'Honaire of Allaria, release me at once or..." Nargis-Hei began to laugh. "You are a comedian, ah? Well we don't need comedians here, so you can tell me why I should keep you alive, or I can cut out your rotten Allarian heart out on the spot, how you like that, king's man? You do not know where you are? This is the city of Gnai Kah, you are in Hespan territory, if only just barely! Now I have three options, either I sell you to the circus, kill you where you stand, or I hand you over to the Hespanese authorities. And Im sure they'd have all sorts of fun activities planned for your future. Now tell me, why should I keep you alive?"Fred suddenly realized his vulnerable position in the enemy realm of Hespan, ruled by the warlord Zokkar the Terrible.
