Fred had to admit, this was all very strange. He had been caught in an
underground current and met a beautiful woman that said she knew him. He
had been auctioned to a strange creature, who said that he had a task for
him. And now, the creature had sold him to the Dragon, and seemed to have
forgotten all about the task! It seemed that, what with the strange (presumably magical) tracking system, he didn't have much choice but to go willingly, if reluctantly, to the Dragon. And he also wanted to rescue Astra. His sense of chivalry demanded it, not to mention the fact that he was strangely attracted to her. Before he left, however, the Snark told him that he was being sent to the Dragon's caves as part of the mission. The true mission was to recover a magic bracelet that the Dragon had stolen from the Snark some time ago. Fred was then put in the carriage and taken to the Dragon's caves.
