Fred was tired and he knew that his mind was not as clear as it should be
in such a terrible circumstance. He didn't know where he was, neither the
land, nor this edifice - this insanely large construction which (he
presumed) could only be a temple in honor of some god or a pantheon of
gods. Deciding he had nothing to lose, he pushed at the old door. It
didn't budge.
Fred then inspected the door. It was very dusty indeed, a sign that no one had used this door in quite some time. There were carvings in the stone of the door, some were weathered to almost nothing while few were still clear. Of the easiest discernable, he saw a strange oval with crooked sticks coming out of it, it looked like a crude bug, and it had a bluish hue in that section of the stone. He also noted an etching of a man, but he had wings coming from his shoulders, scalloped like those of a bat. The rest seemed like so much scribbling or clawing. Fred couldn't make anything of it. Considering that the door had not been used in a long time, Fred deduced that this area was also abandoned. Not fearing the arrival of any stranger or enemy, Fred decided to take a nap, he needed to be in tip-top shape if he was going to figure out what had exactly happened to him, where he was, and how to get back home.
