So you announce that you are going home to bed. Paul does not look up,
but mumbles something about letting yourself out and same time
tomorrow. You let yourself out and set off for home. On the way home you are accosted by a gent who look familiar; he asks you what is the time. Why, you say, it is nine minutes to three sir and he replies how do you know you did not at any stage look at your watch and you reply I looked at my watch a few hours ago and then it was 11.51 and the man says TOUCHE! As if making a point. You were expecting as much. Thank you says the man and scuttles off. "Blast!" you think "all this has made me late!". You hurry as fast as your little legs will carry you but it is too late. By the time you get home it is 2.53 and 20 seconds and you needed to be there by 2.53 and 15 seconds.
