They continued to explore the caverns, hoping to find some trace of the dragon, but they were vast and tracking him down could easily take days or even weeks. Then Fred had an idea. "Why don't we go back to where you were chained up?" he said. "We know that is somewhere that the dragon sometimes visits." Exotica replied:

  1. "Good idea."
  2. "I don't want to do that because we would have to go through those pools again. Who knows what would happen this time?"
  3. "But could we find our way back there?"
