In the sort of occurrence which could sadly only happen in a story, the
Family Values Association, to a man (and woman) are suddenly struck by
the stupidity and pointlessness of their actions. This happens when one
of them looks up the meaning of the word "counterproductive" in a
dictionary. They decide to kill themselves en masse by feeding themselves to the rat which is about to chow down on Sir Fred. This buys Fred approximately 12 years in which to make good his escape.
