Jones? Could this be her brother and she'd jumped to a wrong conclusion? But then Stacy recalled that, when she had opened the door to him, he had said that he was there for their date. Surely a brother wouldn't have said that? And of course Jones was a very common surname, so it wasn't that improbable that he would have the same one as she did.

She hurriedly stuffed his licences back in his wallet. She wouldn't want him to come back and catch her in the act of riffling through them.

  1. Nolan came back and Stacy returned his wallet.
  2. Fifteen minutes passed, and Nolan still hadn't returned to his seat. What could have happened to him?
  3. In putting away the licences, Stacy dropped one on the floor. It was hard to find it in the dark.
  4. "Hey, you!" Astra said. "Yes, I do mean you, lady in the fifth row. Looking through the contents of your date's wallet is kind of sneaky, isn't it?"
