The Never Ending Quest - Episode 52236

"Of course I do," the one known as Bambi answers. "What sort of a stupid question is that? My name is Belboz and..." She breaks off, realising that something is very wrong with the sound of her voice. Then she looks down at herself, and lets off a stream of invective that seems rather incongruous coming from that very feminine body. Apparently she has no memory of her transformation nor of anything subsequent to it - though of course she has been kept under sedation for most of that time anyway. The Champions' hope and expectation is that she will quickly get used to her transformation and accept it, as usually happens in such cases, but that remains to be seen. (Of course, it will be no surprise if she doesn't want to continue to use that rather silly name of "Bambi" that she's been lumbered with but opts for something different.)

Her outburst has given "Fifi" a chance to compose herself. When Belboz/Bambi eventually stops swearing, she says surprisingly calmly: "And I am - or I suppose I should say 'was' - Frederigo De Honaire."

"Aha! I knew it!" Fertal exclaims.

Fred/Fifi looks at him curiously. "Do I know you?" she asks. "There seems to be something very familiar about you that I can't quite put my finger on."

Fertal smiles. "You could say that," he says. "Perhaps I'd better explain who we all are, what's happened to you, and how you come to be here. And indeed where 'here' is. But first we should waken our other pair of sleeping beauties, to save having to give largely the same explanation twice...

"I hope that we've been as successful with them as we seem to have been with you, though in their case it wasn't a loss of memory of their former lives that was the problem."
