Nothing untoward happened during the night. Next morning, Astra received
many curious looks from the other customers as she and Fred had breakfast,
which she studiously ignored. They were halfway through their meal when
Ambaric joined them. Apparently he was not an early riser.
"I'm very sorry about last night," he said. "I suppose that our deal is off?" "Not at all," Astra replied. "After all, you did provide me with the semblance of clothing as you had promised. Admittedly it's not exactly what I would have chosen, but it's better than nothing." "It's very good of you to take it like that." After breakfast, Fred paid his and Astra's bill, and then they went on their way, now in company with Ambaric. They had stocked up on supplies at the inn. The morning passed uneventfully. Around noon they stopped to have a meal made from their supplies.
