Fred slowly got up. There didn't seem to be any after effects of that
sleep spell, which was a good thing. He got a good look at what Astra
appeared to be 'wearing', and thought Ambaric had made an
understatement. It looked like she had been covered from neck to toe in some sort of shiny black material, though painted would probably be more accurate. It was so form-fitting it left nothing to the imagination. Fred stared at Ambaric and immediately thought he had done that on purpose. Ambaric appeared to read his mind and protested his innocence. "I know you don't trust me, but think of this: If I was lying to you, then I could have cast something a lot worse then a mere sleep spell." "So how do you explain that?" Fred demanded, indicating Astra. Ambaric looked pained. "I do not know. It should have worked. It might be possible that the curse she is under affected the spell, though I have never heard of such a thing happening before." "Could something worse have happened?" "Not a chance," Ambaric said. "Like I told you, I can't cast harmful spells. You don't feel anything from the spell I cast on you, do you?" Fred looked away. "No," he admitted. "If that is true, then there's no point in trying the spell again?" Astra asked. Ambaric shook his head. "Not now," he said. "It is getting late and I am feeling tired. Perhaps I could try again in the morning?" It was Astra's turn to shake her head. "That won't be necessary," she told him. "Thank you for trying, anyway." Ambaric smiled. "It was a pleasure," he said. He nodded his head at Fred. "I'll see you two in the morning." He then left the room.
