With the dryer lodged firmly in place Karen checked to see if Mark was
allright. He seemed to be alive, but severely poisoned by the Wendy's
food. The door shook as Deathghost's minions rammed themselves into it,
but the heavy dryer held fast. Supporting Mark on her shoulder, Karen tried to think of another plan. Moving the dryer had revealed a hole in the wall, just big enough to fit one person at a time. It led into darkness, and someone had scribbled "Abandon All Hope" next to it in permanent marker. There was also a window. Karen opened it to look outside, and saw nothing but absolute pitch darkness and breathed stale air. She felt a rush of claustrophobia, like being in a mineshaft. Looking down she could barely make out the library wall, built of red brick and scaling down into the darkness. There was however, another window two floors below them, with a red light on.
