The Never Ending Quest - Episode 51692

Astra had no idea what the glowing rocks were for, though they were very pretty. As she looked at them, she suddenly felt very sleepy and sat down in the easy chair to rest for a moment. Before she knew it she was fast asleep, for the rocks were enchanted and would cause anyone who gazed on them for too long to fall into a deep slumber. (What were they doing in the library? Well that's another story.)

If a damsel falls into an enchanted sleep, there is only one guaranteed method of waking her: a kiss from a handsome prince (unfortunately kisses from ugly princes are no use). When Astra awoke, she saw a face looking down at her. "Ah, you're awake," the owner of the face said. "I am Prince William. I have awoken you from your enchanted slumber."

"Pleased to meet you. I am Princess Astra of Aqualaria. I've been in an enchanted slumber, you say? For how long?"

  1. "I do not know."
  2. "Seeing that your hair has grown to about six feet long and your toenails and fingernails are about two inches long, I'd guess for a decade or more. But at least whilst in an enchanted sleep you won't have aged at all."
  3. "Well, how old were you when you fell asleep? You look to be about sixty now." Naturally that was a terrible shock for Astra. She had been asleep for almost forty years and was an old woman!
