Meanwhile, Josh Burbank, who had more or less oblivious to all of this, notices the pumpkins flying around and realizes that he's hungry. Since pumpkin pie is his favorite food in the whole world, he picks up an unexploded pumpkin bomb and decides to go off to the kitchen to bake some pumpkin pie.

1. Unfortunately, the bomb blows up in his face, killing him. Wait, I think I meant "fortunately."
2. The bomb blows up in his face, but it doesn't kill him, since he had made a deal with Mephisto some time ago and forgotten about it. Instead, he becomes Ghost Rider.
3. Josh successfully makes pumpkin pie out of the bomb. His pie wins several intergalactic culinary awards.
4. Meanwhile, Peter Parker has found out that an interdimensional staircase has mysteriously appeared in the Daily Bugle and wandered up to the staircase room.
