His and Hers?

What manner of sorcery is this? He had expected to get two identical swords but the blades in his hands are quite different. The most obvious difference is that one is blue and has three runes on the side of the blade. It says "HIS". The other is pink, and has four runes. It says "HERS".

"Well it's obvious which one is meant for whom," Astra points out as she reaches for the pink sword. But it is not quite so obvious to Fred.

Even to his limited weapon appreciation skill, the blue blade is clearly the inferior one of the two.

1. He lets Astra take the pink one anyway, and keeps the blue one.
2. He insists on keeping the pink one for himself, and persuades Astra to accept the blue one.
3. He keeps both swords for himself.
4. Somehow the most logical course of action appears to be leaving both swords behind as they leave in search of better weapons for them both.
