Fred was a man pulled by many things (some we're unable to describe in a
family-friendly site like Sir Fred); he kept muttering slogans like "Time
is money, spend it on good things" (of course, Fred's idea of "good
things" may not be the same as yours!), and "Life is like a box of
chocolates" (a phrase he had never understood, but knew that it did tend
to keep his gonads from wandering).
With a mighty nod of the head Fred ignored the tent advertising booze and broads, he sauntered away with head held high (if slightly to the left so as not to see any of the large mammary glands held equally high by even larger braziers). Even as he took step after step and reached the count of five he let loose a sigh and opened his eyes... only to behold another tent! and this one worse than the first! The wooden sign hanging from the loosely nailed rafter and swaying in the breeze said: Booz, Luese Men of Kwestionabel Karachter, & Poker. Fred couldn't take his eyes off it. ---------------------- Meanwhile, the dirty rat of a "leader" was stomping his way this way and that among his troops, among the troop's whores, and among the ogres & swivels, he kept away from the Canadians out of fear and loathing. The leader wore black pants made of the dyed hide of an albino ox, his belt was made of silver ore and had the mystic runes WWW impounded upon the buckle, his shirt was soft cotton and two sizes too large for him (in the fashion of the Hespan sailors), and on his shoulder was a pygmy chimp from the Sweltering Jungles (what it ate no one knew and no one asked). ----------------------------- Back to Fred... Fred knew that he had many options; he could go in, or resist the temptation, he could set the damnable thing on fire, he could ingest the rather large orange-haired bug that was crawling across his foot, or he even could perform a mighty ninja attack upon his own face. Options, so many options, Fred was unsure of what he should do, and long gone was the odd little proverb about chocolates...
