This was proving much more interesting than Astra had expected from the
amuzgar's brief description. Eriki seemed to be concentrating on
plants with a potential alchemical use rather than dealing with "ordinary"
food crops. Boomer might not be very pleased if he knew that I was
listening to this, she thought. Some of it must verge on trade
secrets of the alchemists.
She raised her hand to indicate that she wanted to ask a question. When Eriki ackowledged her, she said: "Sir, you just said that those plants would improve a man's disposition. What would they do if given to a woman?" There were a few chuckles from the audience, and Eriki smiled. "I expect that the effect would be the same. But why is the charming Khanomam enquiring? I am sure that her own disposition is perfect already." More laughter. Astra smiled. "You are much too kind. To answer your question, I suppose that I am just inquisitive by nature."
