Astra was on the run from one hundred pirates who hadn't seen a woman for
six months, and who in any case had never seen one half as attractive as
she was. It didn't help that the tattered rags that were all that were
left of her clothing after a year on the island covered very little. She
knew that it was imperative that they shouldn't catch her, if the Never
Ending Quest was to remain suitable for family reading by the fireside.
Since the island was twenty miles long by seven miles wide, [598] and much
of it was covered by thick jungle, she thought that she ought to be able
to hide out almost indefinitely.
