Made A Run For It

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 49318

Fred, devoid of all but his special long-johns (treated to repel water and cold by a magic spell) made a run for it. Several bows twanged. Two scored along Fred's right arm, digging shallow but long cuts. Fred ran even faster. Soon he was hidden behind several rocks. He used the left hand sleeve to bind his wounds. Now what to do? Now what to do?

  1. Fred looked around slowly.
  2. Fred looked around swiftly.
  3. A crossbow bolt slammed deep into the wall an inch from his head.
  4. Fred's wounds bled much more then they should. Perhaps the quarrels had been poisoned?
  5. Fred heard a familiar void from a side passage. Princess Astra, whom he had met many times on diplomatic missions.
