Using a Sledgehammer on the Fourth Wall

Sir Toby sat behind a large and impressive desk. He didn't beat about the bush. "I'm sorry, Lots," he said, "but we're going to have to let you go. Your episodes are just too expensive. For instance, do you have any idea how much a fully manned pirate ship costs? Your most recent episode was the last straw. You can't buy a Ring of Chameleon for less than a thousand gold pieces nowadays."

"But..." Lots began.

Sir Toby brushed the interruption aside. "And another thing. You keep on telling the same boring stories."

"I do not," Lots objected, feeling most offended.

"No, he doesn't," Astra agreed, walking into the office uninvited. "Besides I want to have some fun with my new ring, so you mustn't sack him."

"I don't suppose there's any chance of your finding yourself some clothes any time soon?" Sir Toby sighed. "Every time you show up around here, productivity plummets."

"Well, keep on Lots, then. He's made more attempts to get me clothed than any other writer. But I thought that you approved of my nudity. Didn't you once say that it helped keep costs down?"

"Yes I did, but there's a place for everything, and when it comes to nude amazons the company offices isn't it."

1. Sir Toby relents and lets Lots42 keep his job.
2. In spite of Lots' and Astra's best efforts, Sir Toby can't be swayed.
3. After our brief intermission we return to the plot.
