...there stands Scott. Josh’s spirits sink like the Titanic (that would make Scott the iceberg). “Dammit!” he laments, bemoaning his plight with an added soul-wrenching cry of, “Goobak ark melork!” He imagines himself a swan. Scott turns to his arch-nemesis and laughs wickedly. “You can never escape me, Josh,” he scolds him solemnly, the moonlight casting a spooky glow over his face. Pure evil radiates from the two twinkling pools of shadows that are his eyes. “You can never escape my love. Come back home, Josh. We’re missing my favorite cartoon.” (Scott is a big ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’ fan)“I don’t love you!” Josh rebukes his ex-roommate. “I never loved you! I was drunk that night we fooled around!” “Don’t lie,” Scott responds cooly. “You were only mildly buzzed.”Josh bursts into tears. “Crying isn’t going to free me,” Scott goes on. “Your tears won’t release me from the bonds of our love.”Crickets chirp in melody with the sound of the Henderson’s newly installed sprinkler system at work, offset by the distant muffle of cars rambling along a nearby interstate. And still, Josh weeps.
