"Are you quite certain you want to do this, Princess?" Pheldris asked. "You have no idea how much it hurts, Pheldris," Princess Marjora replied sadly. "Lord Edghar is the perfect man for me, and I was so happy when father tried to arrange our betrothal, but - but he had no interest in me at all! He'd rather spend weeks out in woods, hunting elk and boar and the like, with those friends of his than spend an hour alone together! It's intolerable!" "Very well, then, here it is." He handed her a vial. "Simply have the palace serving staff put this in his wine the next time he comes around. It will work almost instantly." "Oh, thank you, Pheldris! I shall never forget this!" "You're quite welcome, your majesty. Oh! I almost forgot - you need to drink some, too. That way, the potion will know who to attract to whom." "Very well. When should I?" "It's quite effective - now would be as good a time as any." "Then I shall," she said. Marjora unscrewed the cap and sniffed the potion, but found it had rather no aroma at all. I guess that's so Edghar won't notice it. She closed her eyes, and drank about half the liquid in the vial.
