They looked at each other in shock as the snake informed them the island
had been completely covered in lava by a violent volcanic eruption.
However, their two former compatriots had probably not been killed. It was
possible that they managed to jump through the portal before the area had
been completely covered. Whereever they had gone to if so was unknown. It
certainly wasn't anywhere in the jungle. Well, not in the area of jungle
that the Spirits could see over. Such an event would release a lot of smoke and ash into the air, and so they were both surprised they hadn't spotted any sign of it. This was made even more so when they found out it occured at a similar time to their discovery of the second portal. That had been pretty close to the edge of the jungle, where their view of the sky wouldn't have been so obscured. Well, whereever thier friends were, there wasn't much they could do for them now, though they would make every effort to work out where exactly they were - if they were still alive, that is. They still had to choose whether they would go their seperate ways or stick together. Considering all they had been through, the former wasn't really an option. That just left where they were going to go.
