Ilsa Just Says No

"Wh-what?"

"Well, I mean, we've just met, your highness, and I'd certainly love to be a queen, but - and you're still married. Even if - oh, Queen Jastina, I'm so sorry that you've - um - whatever happened to you happened to you! But don't you see, King Embron? It - it would just be wrong to get married right now."

The King was frozen between outrage and embarrassment - it had been many years since anyone had told him "no" on anything! And yet he could hardly condemn her for - what, excessive morality? And besides - she was just so sweet!

The queen couldn't contain her smirk - her rotten, no-good husband was at a loss as to what to do, thanks to one simple young woman.

And Belboz - Belboz repressed a sigh, regretting that he had made Ilsa quite so moral. It had seemed a good idea at the time, though, since sweet and innocent, yet amoral, wasn't really a viable combination of character traits. Still, it upset certain plans of his greatly.
