Seeing off the Cheeion

As soon as the snake had said that the torch [47265] Fred was holding
began to flicker. Seeing this, Fred had the presence of mind to hold it
towards the cheeion, at which it then directed an intense beam of light.
The cheeion gave a low growl before turning and running away. Once it had
disappeared from view the light dimmed again. After that, they had several
encounters with cheeions which all ended the same way with the cheeion
running off. Other than that, they were able to continue with their
journey unmolested. After another half an hour they stumbled across the temple. Yes, they literally stumbled across it. There was no sign of it until they had rounded a large boulder. Even in the lesser light, there was no chance a temple of that size should have been totally invisible. In fact, it should have been visible on the horizon as soon as they had entered the semi-desert. Regardless, the pair made their way up the many steps to the entrance. Said entrance was a dark hole flanked by two torches in holders. Both Fred and Astra had to duck slightly in order to enter.
