In due time, Josh ended up in Oz. To be exact, Josh ended up as the latest inmate in the rebuilt Oswald State Correctional Facility somewhere in the northeastern United States. Yes, Josh had landed in Oz. It was a relatively quieter time in Oz since it was again reconstructed after the anthrax scare a couple of years ago. Schillinger was just another bad memory, and just about everyone, no matter which group they were lumped into, were relieved that he had met his demise. Keller's death was still whispered about by some of the surviving inmates. Some convicts honestly believed that Beecher killed his lover during a spat, but they remembered how Keller framed Beecher to violate his parole. Only a few inmates knew the truth: that it was an accident. Josh Burbank was one of them, being a fanatic about this series. Yet he didn't know how a fictional television show had come to life like this, and why he had to be stuck in here. Josh would learn that in this strange new reality, he had been convicted of assaulting a patron at a tavern. All Josh could remember was a big brawl breaking out, and how he threw a half-full mug of beer at some guy who charged him for really no clear cut reason. Nobody died in the brawl, but the man remembered that Josh threw the mug at him, and pressed charges. So, Josh Burbank was sentenced to a year in Oswald State Correctional Facility. The screams of "fresh meat!" and "Give him to me!" echoed in his head as he was marched into the prison. Through all of his weird and wild adventures, Josh had never been imprisoned before. Sure, he had taken lovers of both sexes over the years, but prison life was an entirely different animal. It had been a week for Josh. Fifty-one more weeks to go. So far, so good.
