On the Way Out

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 47527

Andrea 2a

"Princess!" Gur Rathka says. That he recognises her is another good sign. Perhaps he isn't as badly concussed as I'd feared that he might be. If that's so, then his species must be exceptionally tough. Or maybe he's just an exceptional individual. "Yes, I think I can walk," he adds.

The princess smiles at him, obviously relieved that he doesn't seem to be too bad.

"Come on then," I say. "This isn't the sort of place where it seems wise to linger."

We make our way back towards the surface. Fortunately Gur Rathka manages pretty well, as he's much too big and heavy for any of us to be able to offer him a shoulder to lean on. It helps that, being six limbed, he's able to use four of them to support himself whenever walking bipedally becomes too much of a strain. As we progress, I take the opportunity to introduce the members of our party to the two of them, as there hasn't been time to do so before this.

When we get out of the dungeon:

  1. "You want us to sit on one of those carpets?" the princess queries. "What's the point of that?"
