Astra had better night vision than the others, so it was she who was first
to see something of interest. She thought she could tell what it was, but
before saying anything that would get the others' hopes up she altered
course and approached more closely. Soon she was in no doubt.
There's a ship! she told Sartoma, Quite a big one, and it seems to be heading east. It's dead ahead of us now. I think there's enough clear space on the deck that we could risk attempting to land on it. I can see it, Sartoma replied shortly afterwards. I've consulted with the others, and we're all agreed that we have no alternative to trying to land on it. How the crew will react to us remains to be seen. If they appear hostile, we might have to point out to them that you have the power to set their vessel ablaze, but I hope that it won't come to that. Of course it would only be a bluff, since doing that would probably doom us too.
