Fred holds the rock up to his face, examining it more closely. Despite his
thorough scrutiny, the small object reveals no furthur clues to its nature.
Fred lets out a sigh of disappointment.
Much to his surprise, the warm stone reacts to his exhaled breath. It
starts to shiver in his palm, and fine cracks start to appear on its
surface. The stone begins to pulse rythmically. As the cracks widen, an
orange glow emanates from inside the stone.
