What a Week Is

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 47007

"If you, Fred, are willing to accept two hours of unimaginable pain, I can fix Astra's curse. Such is the way of magic this week."

"This week?" inquired Fred, "Why should magic this week be different from magic any other week?"

"Ah, my good knight, it appears you fail to comprehend exactly what a 'week' is. Did you ever wonder why a month is divided into roughly four seven-day parts? It seems a sort of silly thing, if you ever pause to think about it without knowing exactly what a week is. You see, the forces of magic are incredibly moody, and infallibly go through drastic mood swings which last exactly seven days each, before going through another one. Marking the beginnings and endings of these periods on a calendar is really more for the magician's sake than anyone's. How the forces of magic are feeling at the time can drastically affect how one must go about the casting of a spell. Right now they're feeling rather sadistic, and will require me to inflict terrible pain on you for me to cure your lovely lady."

Fred thought about this.

  1. "Can I call on you again next week?" he asked.
  2. "May as well get over with this now," he said.
  3. "Before I make my decision, Astra, I wish for you to restore Velus' true form," he said to Astra.
