"I am suffering from amnesia," the girl replies. "But I know from what
people have said that I am a princess, the daughter of the Jed of Iskandr.
I was captured by the Xodarians, enemies of my people and who are
treacherous and evil. I have been held prisoner in these dungeons. The
friend that I referred to is Gur Rathka, who has shown himself to be a
great warrior and a loyal ally of my father's, for all that he is a green
man rather than one of our own people. When an explosion forced my cell
door open, his own cell, next to mine, remained locked. [46207] I think
that he may still be alive, though in a bad way. I had hoped to find keys
with which I could free him."
"Where is his cell?" Artizza asks. "The next level up. I can show you, if you think that you can deal with any guards that might still be around." "I doubt that there will be many of those," Artizza says drily. "But I am sure that we can handle any that we might meet. We have to go back up in any case, to get out of here, so it won't be much out of our way. I don't think that we'll need a key to get the door open, so don't worry about that."
