Amy emerged from a narcotic haze and squealed in horror. She was a rat!
Her body was covered in sparse fur, and her hands and feet were now claws
instead. Whiskers twitching, Amy scurried off the table and hid in the
corner. She realized she was still human-sized - in fact, was mostly
humanoid, retaining her breasts and long human hair. "Marvellous!" she heard Drakenrot laugh. "A masterpiece! I've really outdone myself this time! Come on out, my sweet, precious darling. Come to me, my beloved Rat Assassin!" Amy climbed out to face the hateful old man. She found that she could still precariously walk on two legs. "What have you done to me?!" she hissed. "I've transformed you into a superior being, my dear! You now have the strength of a hill giant - the intelligence of a human - the speed and stealth of a Wu-Tang ninja - and the incredible beauty of the rat! Come to me, my pet! Let me cradle you to my bosom!" "Bastard!! I'll rip you to shreds!" Amy hissed and lunged. Almost immediately she found herself writhing in pain on the ground. Confused at first, she reached up to feel a heavy metal collar around her neck, still tingling with electric current. "Tsk tsk. That's no way for a lovely rat maiden to behave." Drakenrot clucked. "I've just taken a precaution, you see. In case you got too exuberant, seeing how wondrous you had become. The collar will shock you if you try to attack me. It will also shock you if you try to leave the caves. And once in a while it will shock you for absolutely no good reason. I haven't worked all the kinks out of the design yet. So you see, you have no choice but to prove your loyalty to me - by killing my longtime rival, the pesky necromancer Belboz!" Amy wept in powerlessness as Drakenrot dressed her in a gaudy chainmail bikini. He placed a strange silver crown upon her head "It will lead you to the caves where Belboz is hiding." he explained. Then he placed in her hand an ornate curved dagger. "The Dagger of Darkrot. It gives a +3 in battle when wielded by vermin!" "What is this, Dungeons & Dragons?" Amy sobbed. "Now you're just not making any sense. Go! Kill Belboz! When you have returned, everything will be prepared for our wedding. And remember - do not try to hide from me. I will find you." Amy ran, escaping down the corridors until she could no longer hear Drakenrot's diabolical laughter. Wedding? She wasn't ready to marry - and especially not the vile Drakenrot!
