As you can imagine, it took Velus months upon months to complete the
fairly complicated piece of machinery. What? You don’t actually think
Fred and Astra would demean themselves by undertaking any kind of manual
labor, do you? No, foolish mortal, instead they mostly stayed
near the beach either making wild love or building sand castles - only
occasionally checking on the dog-boy’s progress or beating him just on
general principles. Belboz, meanwhile, mostly just decomposed and
stuff like that. Well, the day of completion did finally come. Fred and Astra excitedly went about hoisting what was left of Belboz’s body into the clever contraption without so much as a ‘thank you Velus’ or ‘nice work’. And it’s a shame, too. Velus really had done a marvelous job considering the few meager supplies at hand and the fact that both Fred and Astra were a couple of shitheads, and wouldn’t even raise a pinky to help. Belboz was flung literally miles into the air and disappeared into the endless blue surrounding the island.The two royal jerks exchanged mischievous glances and then stared at Velus with venomous intent and smiled. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Fred asked his co-conspirator/island- fling/fellow shithead. Astra nodded. “Sure am.”Velus backed away from them and his doggy senses alerted him to the fact that something was wrong. Last time he’d seen them look like that he ended up using his tail as a fishing lure in the shark-infested waters off the island. He looked down at the chewed up remains of what had once been a proud, wagging tail and frowned. “Stay still, you miserable mutt!” Fred spat, quickening the pace of his advance. “We just want to put you in the catapult! There’s just the slimmest of slim chances that you might survive what we hope will be a landfall, find civilization, and send us help. Okay? So just quit trying to avoid us and GET OVER HERE!!! Okay?” And he forced himself to smile weakly.Wait, wait, wait! What the hell happened to Khrusti!? Hmmm, good question...
