Ti'mma And THIS is what Zeliseth leads the others into (via a shortcut) days later . . . . . . . Of course, at the time we hadn't any idea what we had fallen into here. We had known things were at a delicate stage here, but not just HOW delicate. Oh, I believe that by now you see just what consequences could be if we just blast in and out of here, "blockifying" both Alicia and Fred. However, what we had hoped NOT to have to face what we eventually would face here. The biggest faction, that is we'd run afoul of because . . . I inadvertently brought it on ourselves by just being what I am: an elf! It was not like there was an elf on every street corner, shouting out that the current course of action (open trade with outside human nations) that this "rabblerouser" named Frederigo D'Honaire had espoused was pure folly. Besides it being rather . . . tacky -- elves, as a rule, do everything with a certain kind of cool style -- it wasn't feasible. The elms their lifeforces were tied to was too far away for that! Oh, they had non-human allies who could have done their street preaching for them, shout to the high heavens that only TOTAL isolation was the answer (maintained through high magery of some kind). No idea how it would work, but it would keep humans out and all the others who respect nature safe within this land's boundaries. I have a feeling that meant only elves, but that's something I cannot prove . . . Just something I feel. This comes later. Right then, I had been more concerned about certain implications I had seen while questing hither and yon recently. It had always fascinated me, that long lost (thank GOD!) nation of Atlantis!! They were mighty in magicks and without, apparently, an ounce of what we would call morality within their hearts. Indeed, the theories that all intelligent races could trace their blood at least in PART to a single race appear true . . . Yet another lingering echo from Atlantis, who's city (as opposed to their supposed "mirror" opposites, the Spartans or whatever) served as the occult basis through vision --or what have you-- (so much to still learn about how the multiverse works . . . . alas) for some of the more dark and sinister things of Nazi Germany. Long story . . . don't ask. Let's not go into how that same city (ruined or not), in certain spots even until it had been destroy, resembled stuff right out of H.P. Lovecraft's novels. That hideous, non-Euclidian architecture and squid headed statues to dark gods. . . Especially some of the more . . . disturbing . . . No, let's just drop that. Too much off the track and I'd much rather concentrate on the here and now than the far and dead past (may God keep it dead for all our sakes)...
