A Gift from the Good Folk...

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 45464

Aaron

The sword . . .now in the centaur's hands . . .

And where did it come from? He'd been bare of all equipment (weaponry and otherwise) after his final transformation!

Just out of curiosity after he'd mentioned something about a small (hah!) gift from Robin Goodfellow (aka Puck) himself and I'd asked if I could see it.

...

"I've got to say that the sword is a bit large to be considered small," I mutter, shaking my head slightly.

"Well," he sighs, doing something to cause the sword to shrink down to something the size of a short sword (hit and all). "Usually, the proper thing the royals of the Good Folk do when someone new who gets inducted into the ranks and they catch their eye is to gift them with a full set of arms and armor . . ."

I find out that this special armor, once gifted, can be summoned up by the user with just a mental thought and stays with them for their entire lives (i.e. forever considering the entities in question). Not all Seelie Courts do this, but I find out later that this one did.

Something similar to what the Light Elves of our Clan enjoyed right before they got transferred to us, but that's by the by.

Just right now I'm yet again being renewed with the fact that magic is more than some kind of fairy tale!! I mean, really! Spent my entire royal life with the feet on the ground and not in the cluds, but it turns out . .

Well, takes a lot getting used to!

....

Well, we find out in addition to the sword being the only gift he'd gotten (he'd been too massive for Puck alone to give him a proper suit of armor), we find that it (the sword, sized for this special centaur) is extremely light! Oh, you don't want to get hit by it, but the sword routine that somehow got transmogrified from the skills of an Amazon warrior to that of a centaur fighter (i.e. he now fights as a centaur instead of a centaur trying to use fighting techniques more suited for his former body).

Oh, and by the way, the sword usually is used in a smaller size except while in battle.

It's rather large to carry about, otherwise...

Anyway, now time to get onto the Quest!

Dragoness Andrea

We, as we travel, are discussing how best to the fox Manimals.

  1. "Well, we could just ask to have an audience with him," Joan suggests. "Couldn't hurt, could it?"
