He was all like totally distracted. “I say, Krissy,” her father diverged, “you raise a good question...ah, look at the time! There’s a 3 part special on the History channel about the war of 1812. Cheerio.” And with that, he waddled off into the musty basement. Her mother threw her hands up in disgust and spat. “And I have some laundry to do,” she said with a wink. “You and Scott help yourselves to the kitchen. I cooked up some breakfast burritos.”Krissy forced a smile. “How original you dumb Mexican.” Her mother cupped a hand over her good ear. “What did you say, dear?”Krissty struggled for a cover-up line. She had a nasty habit of speaking her thoughts aloud. Dammit. It had gotten her into trouble a few times. Dammit to Hell. She had to think of something quick! Something that ryhmed with her last comment! Something that made sense! She slowed her breathing as the words formed in her mind and passed through her lips; “I said how original you dumb Mexican.” Dammit. Her mother clenched her crotch and made a quick thrust of her hips in Krissy’s direction. “Well a big F-you right back at you, dearie!”Krissy giggled. “Oh, mom!” Her mother grabbed a book off the oak coffee table and made her way to the laundry room. Just as she disappeared around the corner she turned around and made one last remark. “Don’t forget you’re part Mexican too, you little harlot!”“Eat shit and die!” Krissy hollered back, then wiped her hands and rushed over to Scott. “Sorry about them,” she said, blushing a little. Drool slowly dribbled from Scott’s chin and his arms convulsed from time to time as he lay sprawled on the carpet.She smiled and kissed him on the forehead. “You are so sweet not to say anything rude.”
