The green sphere of energy waivered in the sickbay - the tall elf and the
little sickly man had strange devices in their hands pointed at it. The
doctor held a different device that was making strange beeping noises.
The two women with shockingly short skirts stood behind the little sickly
man with fear in their eyes.
Fred noticed something very ominous about the sphere of green fire, there appeared to be something inside it. "What in tarnations!" said the doctor. "Is that an eyeball in there?" "Vy vould there be an eyeball inside a ball of energy?" asked the sickly man. "Fascinating," said the tall elf. Just then the sphere, or the eye, or both together spoke: Hello. I am here to deliver a message. It moved deeper within the sickbay, away from the torn section of door/wall. "Do not move any further!" commanded the little man. I have a message for Fredrigo of Suffex in the Kingdom Allaria. You do not belong here. "I knew we shouldn't have picked up these two rejects from a Viacom vidfilm!" said the doctor. You belong on your world, not here. Come with me. Fred suddenly felt a strange sensation, accompanied by a burst of nausea. He closed his eyes expecting the worst. After what seemed an eternity (in actuality only one point five minutes) he felt a cool breeze caress his cheek. Opening his eyes he saw, to his complete amazement, the walled fortress of his father's home - Montfort! Questions flooded the nobleman and knight. Where had he been? what was that ball of green fire? had there been an eyeball within, and why? was it the fire or the eye that had spoken to him? why had it brought him back home? was it an enemy toying with him or an ally? Yes, Fred had many questions, but no answers. Thousands of miles to the south an equally amazed and puzzled Astra sat in the temple-courts of her own home and that of the QueenMother. Literally a parallel universe away a Vulcan and four humans stood in amazement also (well, the humans anyway). Their sickbay was a mess, the man named Fred was gone, the energy-eye was gone, and they had just heard word from Nurse Chapel that the woman named Astra had also disappeared. Yet within a different dimension, the eyeball within green flame sighed (or atleast it did what would have been a sigh if an eyeball had a mouth and lungs). It had once been Velus - or atleast a part of Velus - a teen cursed into the form of a tiny dog who had just happened to have been hit by some powerful dragon magick - enough to 'kill' him, in the practical sense of the word anyway.
