Fred and Gary crouched over the chess table set up in the middle of the arena. An intense battle of the minds ensued. Move after move was carefully calculated. After each move they would slap bell hooked to a wooden platform. This would indicate the other now has five minutes to make a move. Fred lost a pawn and a bishop. Gary lost a rook.
Half an hour passed. Each side had only lost one more pawn.
