Scarface, Mikey, Red and Bill were on their fourth trip into the caves to
loot the hoard of the dead male dragon. [23818, 37730] If they had known
that there was still a live dragoness somewhere in the caves, then their
fear might have outweighed their avarice, but they were under the
misguided impression that there was no longer anything to worry about. Two
others of their band were guarding the wagon just outside the caves that
now contained a king's ransom in gold and precious stones. The High Heresy
Examiner fondly imagined that he would be getting fifty per cent of
anything that they found. They planned to give him ten, telling him that
the hoard had been much less impressive than Velus had made it sound.
Now, though, they had found something far more unexpected than treasure, but very nearly as welcome: two naked and very attractive young women, one impressively tall and athletic-looking and the other in contrast rather slightly built, though both were pleasingly curvaceous. The four men surrounded Astra and Lily. Then Scarface, their leader, asked: "Who are you?" From the ruffianish look of the men, Astra was sure that they were up to no good. It would not be wise to tell them that she was a princess of Aqualaria. "I am called Astra and this is Lily. We are two escaped prisoners of the dragon," she said. That was true for herself, and she assumed that it must apply to Lily as well. "Really?" Scarface said. "Then I have some good news for you. The dragon is dead. We will escort you both out of the caves, to make sure that you remain safe. Then I am sure that you will want to show your gratitude to us, if you know what I mean?" From the way he was leering at them, Astra had little doubt what he had in mind. Before she could say "I don't think so", however, Lily spoke up. "What are these creatures?" she asked. "They look rather like us, but most of their surface seems to be covered in something that isn't really part of them. Some of them have some bristly stuff on the part at the top that isn't covered up, where we don't. And they don't seem to have the two bouncy things that we do." As the men looked at Lily in astonishment, Astra told her: "These are called men. These particular ones are evil. We may have to fight them." Astra didn't give much for their chances in combat. Lily was only slightly built, and for all her own prowess in unarmed combat she was out of condition from her time chained to the wall. The two of them, unarmed, surely had little hope against four armed men. But she would be damned if she would let herself be raped without trying to resist.
