The intolerable heat is more than enough incentive for Astra to run for her life. If that thing even made the slightest contact with her body, she would perish instantly.

Astra runs for her life, but finds that the rod is still in, apologies for the pun, hot pursuit.

What next?

1. Astra outruns the rod.
2. The rod captures Astra, incinerating her instantly.
3. The rod catches Astra, but lowers its temperature enough that she is unharmed.
4. The mad monk Aristotle appears to save Astra from his creation.
5. Lord Fred and Velus emerge to battle the rod.
