Crossed Paths, Strange Mischances Redux

"Amy!" shouted Rami. "You made it!"

"Um, made what?" asked Amy. "What are you doing here too? The last time I saw you, you were with Fred in our house.."

"Amy?" said Rami, very disquieted. "Don't you remember how we were imprisoned by the dragon and foced to eat orc meat and how we barely escaped by swimming out?"

"Um, no," said Amy. "I just remember being chased by velociraptors and bears and then suddenly being washed up here on a beach. I don't know what you're talking about. Are you sure you're OK?"

"Amy, how could you? I--wait a minute... I wonder, you're not from an alternate timeline, are you?"

"What? Rami, you have definitely been reading too many fantasy novels."

"You just said that. Well, you did in my timeline. And alternate timelines is more of a sci-fi thing. Anyway, just to make sure, let's compare notes about our histories. The Union won the civil war, right?"

Amy was starting to wonder whether everyone here had gone insane, including her. "Um, right."

"And I really hope the Nazis lost World War II."

"They did."

"Well, um, I'll think about it. This is kind of cool, though." She smiled, but was exhausted and hungry and only managed a weak smile. "I wonder if I'll meet my counterpart too, just like the Doctor."

"The Doctor?"

Rami looked distressed. "Um, you've heard of him, right? He's a rogue Time Lord who mainly lives in Britain and has saved the world hundreds of times. Remember? We saw his TARDIS--his time machine once when we were on vacation in England."

"..."

At that moment, Rami passed out. Amy realized that she had to get some food for both of them quickly.

1. She took her to the woods to the north.
2. She took her to the mountains to the south.
3. She then saw her own counterpart on the beach. This weirded her out even more.
