Astra's rags had pretty much disintegrated by now, whilst Alura's previously immaculate clothing had been badly torn. The girls themselves, however, seemed to be little the worse.

"Don't you think that we ought to break it up?" Velus asked Fred around a mouthful of banana. "After all, Astra's six months pregnant with your child."

  1. "Nah, it won't do her any harm. These Aqualarian women are tough."
  2. "Yes, I suppose so."
  3. Just then, Astra looks up and spots Velus, and realises that he's alive after all.
