"Take This Ship to Cuba!"

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 44620

The Vogon guard decides that he would rather take these intruders to the captain than lead them to a wall comms unit. When the captain sees the number of guns that he was up against, perhaps he will accept that resistance would indeed have been futile, and his (the guard's) punishment will therefore not be too severe.

Even allowing that the captain is a Vogon, he is not a pretty sight. Arthur gulps when he sees him, but manages to avoid throwing up.

"What is the meaning of this?" the captain barks, getting up from his chair with all the agility of a walrus. He then sees that a large number of guns are trained on him, and decides that it might be prudent to sit down again.

"Take this ship to Cuba," Cuthbert says. He seems to be in an unusually frivolous frame of mind today. He goes on: "To be serious, we are hitching a lift on your ship."

"It sounds more like you're hijacking it to me," the captain grumbles.

"Not at all. Well, hardly at all. We want to get to a restaurant called Milliways, otherwise known as 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe'. We don't expect you to take us all the way there, though, since it's probably a long way out of your way. You can just drop us off somewhere that's mutually convenient."

"Never heard of it."

"Perhaps I can help you there," Ford says. "It's quite well known - at least, I know of it. It's sure to be in the Guide...

  1. "Ah, yes. Here we are. Let me give you the co-ordinates."
  2. "How odd. There's an entry all right, but it doesn't give the co-ordinates."
