A Cooked Meal at Last!

Fred and Astra said that they would very much like to share a meal with
Anbana, and the interpreter translated what they had said. A large pot of
stew was already simmering over a fire outside the communal hut, so very
soon Fred and Astra were enjoying the first cooked meal they had had in a
very long time.
Anbana, as leader, had his own private quarters within the communal hut, and only he dined with Fred and Astra. For he knew that knowledge was power and wanted his conversation with the strangers to be private. (Of necessity the interpreter was also present, of course, though she did not eat with them.) "The spirits told me that you would be coming," Anbana told them as they started to eat. "They said that you should be made welcome, but they did not say why you would be visiting us. Please will you tell me." When this had been translated for them, Fred and Astra exchanged startled looks. They hadn't expected anything like this.
